This sculpture is named after a chapter in a textbook that my father wrote in 1962.\u00a0It reflects my interest in architecture, science, basketry, and textiles, and the visual forms they have in common. The shapes here are also inspired in part by the sunlike form of the coronavirus. The overall form of the sculpture suggests an animal of some kind. Working with welded steel and paint allows me to work in an improvisational and intuitive way.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
